PuNk it Up! Double Headliner

The Punk It Up crew celebrated the new year with a night of great music at Rough Trade Nottingham. On SATURDAY, JANUARY 11TH, from 7PM to 12AM, attendees enjoyed an evening filled with fantastic music from live bands I AM LONO & MILO, along with tunes from PuNk It up! DJs SONIA & TALY, and more. The event featured a diverse mix of music genres including Punk, Post Punk, Ska, Reggae, New Wave, Indie, and more, catering to everyone’s tastes. I AM LONO, a Nottingham-based post-punk synth-rock band, showcased their talent. Their music, influenced by bands like Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and Siouxie and the Banshees, offered an epic and pop sound with dark, atmospheric undertones. M I L 0, a brilliant new Sheffield-based band, presented sounds ranging between dark indie/alternative pop. Entrance to the event was by donation at the door, with all proceeds benefiting the local project ‘rebel kids’. This project educates girls and boys aged 10 and 11 about sexism, racism, and other social justice issues, teaching them how to be allies to friends experiencing any of these challenges. It was noted that FLOOR ONE AT ROUGH TRADE NOTTINGHAM IS LIFT ACCESSIBLE.
